Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
Well perhaps they should be! Whether you use their skins to impress people with your funny, orange smile, or you puncture them with cloves and drop them into a vat of warm plonk at Christmas time, everyone has a soft spot for oranges (mine is just beneath my belly button). Oranges are a tonic, with diuretic and laxative properties (That’s short for ‘keeping you regular’) Good for the immune system and fill of vitamin C, oranges also offer us bioflavonoids that are contained in their pith. An increase in the intake of bioflavonoids is especially recommended for those with a weak immune system. Orange is the New Green As fans of ‘How Clean is your House’ will know… orange oil can be used as a handy and astringent cleaning fluid. It’s a lot more environmentally friendly than the pollutant petroleum derivative brands that you find beneath most kitchen sinks. And another thing… The modern orange is actually an ancient hybrid (much like a mule) of a tangerine and a pomelo. Fancy that.
